This is my "Why" - what's yours?

You know how grocery shelves emptied of food during the pandemic?

I want to do what I can to make sure that local farms & local food exist in the future to come to our rescue when we need them - again.

You see, small local farms, local animal genetics, food production skills, food processing capacity & cooking skills are all in danger of going extinct.

Consumer choices made in the past impact us now.

Chickens have huge breasts and grow extremely fast because consumers wanted more breast meat. Similarly, cattle have been bred for feedlot efficiency rather than grass-fed health benefits.

Our choices today create change for the future.

That is some incredible power when you think about it.

Every time we buy something, we make a choice to spend dollars to support (or not support) something.

Intentional or not, we make a choice with those dollars and the "big boys" try to give us what we want - that is some incredible power when you consider it.

For me, I want to support food I feel good about eating.

I want home-made goodness with deep meaning, purposefully raised by people I know.

I want real, authentic food with all of its variation and imperfections that makes me think about each bite, but is still simple to prepare and needs little embellishment.

I want to share my beef with people who care about what they eat and where it comes from, so I'm shifting Old Time Farm to focus on a 100% grass-fed beef subscription service.

The PA Preferred certified, regeneratively raised beef from my Mercer County farm represents my commitment to food that's raised with intention.

No antibiotics, no hormones, no GMOs, and no fillers.

Raised in family groups with kindness & care and from old-fashioned local genetics - no artificial insemination by genetics owned by big ag.

Raising mass quantities of food to "feed the world" was never my goal. Conservation of food heritage and sharing amazing flavors with others has always been what drives me.

Simply, I choose change to preserve what matters for our future - do you?

When you subscribe to monthly beef delivery, you're not just getting dinner on the table.

You're making an intentional choice that ripples far beyond your dinner table.

Here's the thing - eating local food shouldn't be hard.

That's why I created a simple monthly beef subscription that arrives at your door on the 1st Saturday of each month, complete with a meal plan.

I want to make it easier for good people, like you, who care about what they eat to buy food that makes them feel good to serve.
